Background

The African Society for Laboratory Medicine (ASLM) is implementing a capacity-building program for the ASLM 2026 Conference to support researchers and early-career professionals in developing high-quality abstracts and manuscripts for submission.

ASLM invites qualified professionals to serve as Abstract Mentors, providing guidance and constructive feedback to strengthen the quality, clarity, and scientific rigor of submissions across areas such as laboratory medicine, public health, AI in health, and health economics.

💡 Note: This is a voluntary, non-remunerated role.

  • Mentors will receive certificates of appreciation in recognition of their contribution.
  • Mentors will each be assigned 3–5 mentees to support throughout the process.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 🎓 Education: Master’s degree or higher in Public Health, Health Sciences, Medicine, AI in health, Health Economics, or related fields.
  • 📈 Experience: Proven track record in writing and publishing abstracts and manuscripts.
  • 🤝 Mentorship: Experience reviewing, editing, or mentoring scientific writing.
  • Skills: Strong communication, attention to detail, and ability to provide timely, constructive feedback.
